Hi there, how's it going? I hope it's going well with you. I haven't used my blog as a journal in forever, so this is probably going to be a bit of a long post. I have a lot going on, and I'll hop right in.

I'll do a quick summary of the recent events of my life, since there's a lot of blank spots. Two months ago (May 8th, 2010) I visited my friend, Jennie in Pennsylvania. I was taking a bit of a trip to the East coast, as well. And I had intentions of touring, but things never really work out exactly like we plan, do they? Anyways, I was happy that so many factors of my life lined up perfectly to enable me to actually go. The finances were there, the time was there, her family was okay with me staying with them. Everything just seemed to fit perfectly.

Now, before I go on I should note that I've known Jennie for around 4 years, give or take. I met her through a friend through a friend online, and for the longest time I just liked being able to talk to her (she's a great listener). Eventually I realized that she was rapidly becoming the person I could tell anything to, because I was comfortable talking to her. I eventually did grow to like her, but probably loved her as a friend far before that. Anyways, despite the fact that we knew we liked each other, I decided to go on my trip to Pennsylvania as a friend. I didn't want to make silly emotionally rushed decisions, or anything like that. I know that meeting people in person is completely different from having talked to them through chat logs and web cams for years. I was going to be reasonable, logical, and reserved about the whole thing. I failed miserably.

A couple days passed, and I took my time. I analyzed my emotions and talked to her extensively every night, informing her about what I was thinking about and what I thought of everything. I was comfortable talking to her about all of it, and it was great.

Another side note, here. I've never been comfortable around girls that I've had crushes on. I've always been awkward, mentally blank, and unprepared to talk to them. I'm sure a lot of you know the feeling I'm talking about, but imagine that for everyone you'd ever felt attracted to every single time you were around them. Awkward.

So, in all honesty, my focus on touring Pennsylvania didn't last that long. It took a day or two before I realized that it was going to end up being entirely about her. I was okay with that development. I learned to love her family, they’re so unique and connected, and I could just feel the love. Everything about the trip worked out so well. On May 11th we discussed our emotions and thoughts, and I convinced myself that even if the logic didn't completely pan out, the love did. We both knew that it would be years of college that we would both have to complete before we could be together. We'd visit each other a couple times a year, of course, but it would be expensive and rare. We both decided that even with all those completely reasonable factors working against us, it was worth the chance. If you've ever been in unreasonable love, you know exactly what I'm talking about. After hearing that she was willing to wait that long to be with me, and knowing that I could as well, I asked her to be my girlfriend, and she accepted. Butterflies. That lone title means so much to me. To me, a girlfriend is a prospect of forever. The title is a risky investment, to be willing to put your own emotions on the line by binding them to another human being's. I wouldn’t have asked her that unless I was already in love. I spent the rest of my trip relishing the time I had with her, but knowing that I had to leave. When I held her at the security checkpoint and kissed her, I didn't say goodbye. I said "be right back". I had no idea. That was May 22nd, 2010.

A little after midway through June her mom brought up the prospect of me going to school over there. Jennie explained that the tuition rates for non-residents is much more expensive (300%). When Jennie told me about the conversation later that day, we both thought it was funny and adorable. Moving to Pennsylvania to become a student there was a novel idea, but there were too many reasons it wouldn't work. Or at least, that's what I thought. In practicality, it was not only possible, but very possible. We looked up residency laws, began planning in theory the variables that would have to be aligned for such a move to actually take place. The joke was gaining momentum. I expected barriers to pop up and prevent it, but nothing did. This was an opportunity to push myself out of the stagnation I've built up in my life, as of late. I could get a job there, gain residency, go to school, and be with my love, to find out whether or not she's the one. It's easier when you're not 2588 miles away. I talked to my parents about it that same day. My mom said I'd need a car if I wanted to move my stuff out there. The next day a perfect opportunity arrived, and we got the car I own now (Thanks grandma and grandpa).

The people I expected to shoot it down as irrational have supported me in it, I was expecting at least someone wouldn't be a hopeless romantic. Her family approved of it, my family approved of it, and I've been working to prepare for the move in July 2010. My insurance is at the address I'm going to live at. That odd, seemingly random fact is probably what caused me to realize that this is actually happening. Things like this don't happen to me. I sit on a computer for hours daily talking to friends and editing graphics or playing games. Here I am, though, typing out an explanation for those that were interested in one. I'm so happy. Actually happy - for the first time in a long time. Have you ever done the right thing, regardless of logic and reason, put it in God's hands, and let Him be Him? It's a wonderful feeling.

Jennie's flying in on the 13th (9 days, as of this post), and she'll be visiting with my family for the rest of the month, before we both drive back to the east coast with my stuff. I'm so excited.

I completely love everything about her, and I only want what is best for her. I don't pretend to know how everything will work out, but I know that love gives, and love cares, and I want her to know the princess that she really is. And every day is another day to show her what I know she deserves. I love it. I changed a faucet happily on Friday, because I realized that it would be an exercise in responsibility, and also realizing that someday I might need to do it when I get a house. Love changes everything, and it is enough.

Short update before I head off to do my math, on the Jacob side of things I talked with Kelcee at CBC today, which was fun. Hadn't talked to her for awhile, but then added her on Facebook, so it's good to see someone from 1st quarter again.

Aforementioned maths generally kicking my butt, and I've got to really apply myself if I'm going to pass precalculus this quarter. Fun times. I'm probably going to be poor in about a week because I'm in all likelihood buying another retail game, which I don't really have the income to do constantly.

After this quarter I can get a more profitable job hopefully, not that I have any problem with the law office, they are cool folks. Uhhh, I've got a couple things I need to get around to I suppose.

That's actually all I can think of at the moment, not a lot of blue text stuff going on lately, so it'll be brief. New purchases:

World of Goo (Got from the develeper's site for a $5.00 donation, sweet eh?)

I probably own 75+ games by now (whether via steam or disc). I'm getting there. For the people that actually game with me, I'm probably going to buy Borderlands in about a week, which I mentioned up there. Has a current metacritic score of 88/100 for PC, which puts it at 3rd highest rated game for the year thus far. I'm sure that average will be dragged down, but it still looks like a solid game. I need to get 3 people to play with me, haha.

Oh right, my life. So I worked a lot this week, so come next paycheck I'm going to be friggin' rich. Of course that will proceed a math test which I'm fearful about, but meh, it can't all be good I suppose. Coding class is the opposite of math though, in that it is amazingly fun. I'm glad I picked Computer Science as a field, as I'm pretty sure it was specifically designed for me.

Wonder what I'm going to do with my money. Probably save some and spend it on stuff for the blue text.

Recently ran into Riley at CBC, and we talked a bit about God and the conflicts and stuff I've been going through trying to get that all sorted out. I'm not really going to church now, so it's not like my Christian roots are terribly supported. I'm a little bit worried that I don't want them to be...but that's another rant entirely.

I should upload a picture or something seeing how I haven't had a blog post in forever.

I've been playing a lot of TF2, a little Diablo 2, lots of EVE Online, recently beat Jedi Knight II: Outcast, and Batman: Arkham Asylum was pretty friggin' amazing. I'm not much of one for replaying games, but I might have to play that some more.

City of Heroes is going to have a reactivation weekend next week, and I'll be handing out referral codes for friends that want to check it out. You could get a trial without a referral code, but if you do it this way and decide to subscribe to the game I get a free month soooo, be cool.

Speaking of referral codes, I've got my new month's batch for EVE Online as well, so if you're hardcore enough to want to check that out (And the referral codes give more time than the normal trials for EVE), hit me up for that as well.

I myself am having a moderately okay time in my current life. I got cigs, work and friends who have no life either. So life moves really slowly.

i believe in optimism regardless, not that i have any real problems right now anyway, but even when the going gets rough, as long as you have something to look forward to, everything is okay

I'm glad for a lot of things. I'm glad that i finally got my high school diploma as of 2 days ago

and i never have to go back, and i can go forward, but it's optional.

Living on my own is fun but it's a challenge. My father isn't around to do my dishes, or help me out when my real colors show and i panic out for stupid reasons, and no one but me and mitch are around to pay my rent, and hopefully it always makes the bill, which it has so far.

But I'm glad that i can come home from a shitty day and watch Dragon Ball Z with my roommate and eat Spongebob fruit snacks and have nerf gun wars. As retarded as it all may be, it couldn't be better.

So I'm on a computer. I'm at CBC. I'm bored, not hungry, and don't want to drive somewhere to buy something to eat and lose my spot in the process. So shall my Mondays and Wednesdays go. I'll have work later today, but really I'm just waiting for my next class now.

I think I should go for straight-legged 32 34 pants from now on. 30 34 would be the best, but those would have to be custom made and thus expensive.

I need to make a calendar I'll keep updated and actually use for keeping track of my homework. I'll probably install Rainlendar again for such a purpose.

I'm inching my way toward being able to fly an Abaddon, boy that'll be awesome. Too bad it costs 100m+ to buy. Sucks to be me. I'm probably going to train toward my logistics ship ("Guardian") after that.

I started playing Everquest (the original one) with some friends. Good times there.
I still play Left 4 Dead a ton. New content should be coming out for that soon, which I look forward to.

The classes I am taking this quarter include Geology, Speech Essentials, and Math 97.
Good instructors across the board, so if I do poorly this quarter it would be my own fault.

I've decided I want to purchase a motorcycle rather than a car. A car protects one from the weather and is safer, neither of which are aspects I care for. A motorcycle gets much better MPG and is a ton more interesting to ride. Also, parking at CBC is CAKE with a motorcycle because the spots for them are always free.

Uhhh, yeah. I need a girlfriend to develop my offline life. I have come to this conclusion after years of dedicated meditation and pwning lots of n00bs. Yep.

Money is pointless - of this I am sure. I get money by working, which has a fun factor of 2%. I get money, which has a fun factor of 5%. I can spend the money on food, games, movies, etc, which have a fun factor of 70% with the expected free time I can get out of them.

Thus: The fun factor of a worker = 2% from my work + 5% from money + 70% from entertainment derived from money with reduced free time. 77% fun.

Now without work I'd have 100% use of pure fun doing whatever I want, or 100% fun.

Being part of the American Dream costs me 30% of my possible fun. How lame is that?
Work doesn't make my life feel fulfilled, it just makes me more tired and too lazy to run around my house 4 times spontaneously. I'm still waiting for a good argument as to why being a functional member of society is actually beneficial to me in the long run :/

My Father offered me a brand new macbook if i passed the one class left i needed to get a high school degree officially.

He wonders why im not excited,

probably because he doesn't know that im going to fail the class :/

no amount of money will make me good at school,

if i was offered a Porsche i wouldn't care because i dont believe anyone would give a $60k car away just for passing a class.

but so goes life. I go to college, i just need one more class and ill be done with school.

I had 2 classes ,one was a college english class which im passing just fine, the other was an internet class that was for high school, all i need is one class and i get my diploma and i just couldnt do it, the class is so boring uhg its just read read test read read test, but im not going to take college classes next quarter, so ill just retake it and pass it,

and also, im TOTALLY MOVING OUT. So im stoked about that.

hopefully soon, but we're still looking, me and ma friend mitch are looking at 2 bedrooms, im excited to go live out my life; top ramen and thin apartment walls!

That's what I've developed. Basically it works like this...someone who used to be friendly doesn't greet you when you pass by them, and instead looks to the ground and away. Now, it doesn't matter in the least bit, but the fact that I've made a word to describe it means it applies to me. Circular logic? Yes. What are you going to do about it, eh?

Anyways. I'm going to take a three hour long midterm this afternoon. I won't have much time for breaks, and it's going to be pretty tiring I bet. Maybe I should buy some coffee? I'm a little tired already, so I don't know how I'll hold up in the end. Hopefully I get some good grades...it's in Social Problems, and covers a lot of material, so I don't know how realistic an expectation that is.

Tired OUTSIDE of class? What is this? Shameless.

So I pretty much wasted my weekend playing video games (Overlord, specifically). It's pretty disappointing. I wouldn't need to be so wound up about my midterm if it was done yesterday (which was a holiday). Nah, I have to put things off until the last possible minute. I think more of my life is spent in apprehension about upcoming obligations and events than the time it would take me to complete said obligations and events. Actually, I know the previous point is true, which is moderately sobering.

Hey Jennie, I read your blog, it's entertaining.

So anyways, back to overanalyzationism. I don't like this friend anymore, but I used to. Crushes are fickle like that, and ultimately are undesirable to one such as me. Immediately after we continued not talking to each other, I ran into Kelcee, who actually is friendly. I talked to her for a couple minutes. We discussion school, life, the meaning of happiness, whether the moon being made of cheese was an illusion meant to inspire the imaginations of children or to spark pure emotions amung the corporation based figures of society that thrive off of greed and Nowism.

No wait, we just talked about school. I should start putting "ism" at the end of random words...that would be fun. I want a nap, but such is not a luxury right now. I'll have to maintain consciousness long enough to complete my daily scheduled tasks. It seems that those seem to be one of the few goals I'm successfully meeting (most of the time).

You know, being the single guy that I am, I made a chart of possibilities of girls I should/shouldn't like, producing pros and cons for each. The results? Well I'm not telling you. Chances are if you aren't Tony (or most other guys) you were on the list =P

I can tell you, however, that a recurring theme seems to be the awesomeness is always out of reach in life. Be it awesome behavior, or awesome companions (not counting Tony, who is irrefutably awesome). I wonder if the CBC faculty mind if I create blog posts this long on their own equipment. I can't say I'm furthering my education in the slightest bit. Well, perhaps delving into my introspection, but that is more of a career trait than an academic pursuit. Let us see how complex we can make a form of communication via text.

I've noticed I do that, I default to larger words when I'm tired or otherwise distracted. Sub-conscious level intelligence sprouting when I allow the autonomous portions of my brain freer roam? Perhaps. That or a base insecurity that leads me to constantly try to reaffirm my intelligence to those around me and myself.

I got my camera :3 best V-day present to myself EVER.

the camera is amazing, its tiny and good quality, plus the USB plugin is attached to the camera so you dont need a cord, and the program to edit it and view your videos is installed when you plug the camera in ,it's built in, so convient.

this video is not in HD because i cant figure out how to get HD videos on Youtube, some greater power is involved here.

I've watched David Lehre's films from the beginning, and he's produced seemingly amazing short films and displayed acting skills i only see from the big screens. ...that I could use the computer lab at CBC during my huge break. I've gotten the reading done I want to accomplish right now, so I might as well be catching up on those pointless electronic social interactions I don't care about, and you guys.

So yeah, new quarter is going swell. My first class is at 6:50 in the morning (ridiculous), and my next is at 11:30 (also ridiculous). My last is online. The amount of time I have between classes is staggering, so I'm actually motivated to "study" and "work" (both foreign, Australian concepts).

My classes aren't bad, two psychology/sociology based, and one is math. Good times.
Well, enough about me, lets talk about what I think.

I *finally* got my ~~banking~~ "credit union" account set up online, so I go through and label my expenses and income. I shouldn't enjoy it, but I do. It's nice to be able to see my balance online too, rather than just when I deposit new checks. I feel business like.

Uhhh, yeah. So I guess I'll probably be making more blog posts. It'd be harder to get away with playing games here, so yep, this is the alternative. You, my dear reader, are the alternative to me playing games. In the business of my life, you place second in this moment. Today, second has won. You, my dear reader, have won.

today, however i did something different.

so me and my girlfriend were at walmart and we were like "hey look, Board games! and so we bought scrabble and Yahtzee and oh my GOD it was so fun, yahtzee is rediculously fun, and scrabble is a great way to learn all sorts of words youve never heard and never will

good thing i don't gamble cus i love rolling dice.

yahtzee is my favorite, its a tough choice to scrabble but yahtzee is so easy and simple, i'm sure most anyone has played it.

I've been playing Left 4 Dead. No end soon, happy new year!
College will start back up on Monday, good, scary, disappointing times. I don't want my break to end, and I've got a pretty early class. Meh.

Not a whole lot for me to do at work anymore, so I'll be getting less hours clocked in all likelihood. Not that that's a problem with CBC starting up, or that I have a real problem with working less, it's just a fact I suppose.

Went to a new years "party" with my cousins today (yesterday), it was more of a family get together. Pretty lame overall; I'm disappointed in how my cousins "grew up" and aren't as kinetic as they used to be.
Explanation: I wanted to play board games, play tag, do anything. But nooooooo, they all just talk too much. Lame. I suppose it also stems from my feelings of not really being part of their posse. I don't feel too terribly attached to either side of my family, honestly.

I mean, none of them even read this blog, how great can they be? D:

Well, on a high note, I've gotten a lot of L4D achievements today, and my friends in the virtual world love me. Or at least like me. Or at least appreciate my skill. Or can't find anyone better in the mass of swarming nublets that are playing the game late because their dad does. Yeah.

I haven't bought anything really recently. I didn't get anyone any Christmas presents, but I guess most of my family didn't. I haven't bought any games for awhile, mainly because I still haven't friggin' finished the ones from last year (2008). Yeah, bother. It's such a shame there are these things like "work" and "college" and "sleeping" to interfere with my gaming, or specifically, Left 4 Dead (Tony has it now, it's all over lol).

Sooooo yeah, I think that's enough text to account for my absence. It's about 1:19 A.M. here, and I have work tomorrow. I estimate I'll get enough sleep, but I might as well hop to it (or shamble). I guess I have a few projects to catch up on over the weekend while preparing for college again and playing even more Left 4 Dead.

Speaking of Left 4 Dead, I've played 51.3 hours of it in the past two weeks, and I'm 71% completed on achievements. One that will take awhile is:

I can't seem to get tired of this game, it's disconcerting, especially when one considers how many games I've played and how picky I am. I still haven't beaten Far Cry 2, and that's a pretty sweet game.

Didn't I say I was finishing this post? Yeah, I think I did. Anyways, considering how much I've played games recently, you'll have to excuse me if it's dominating my mind just a *little* bit. Or not, either way, I don't really mind. Just comment explaining why I'm a horrible person or something...I'll post a reply once I'm done receiving more enjoyment from my life than you.

Left 4 Dead (demo) Impressions

(Note that this post has also been posted at my new blog dedicated ENTIRELY to games. Why post it here as well? Why, because sometimes I actually like getting responses, that's why.)

Now that the full game has been released on steam ($49.99 as of me writing this), I think it is about time I give my impressions of the Left 4 Dead demo. Keep in mind that I may not be the best objective reviewer here, because I ran through those two map sections over and over.

Graphics:
Some people say the graphics are pretty bad, I couldn't tell through the screams and the blood. But no, seriously, the optimized steam engine is a great gaming choice. Sure, it's not giving Crysis a run for its money, but L4D can play on lots of systems and frankly look pretty good when you have the hardware for it (maxed settings at 1280x1024 on my system with a Geforce 8800GT). Appropriate atmosphere for a zombie game, and lots of nice models that add to the effect.

Sound:
The sound for Left 4 Dead is actually pretty satifying. Zombies are distinctive, weapons sound fun (maybe average for today's FPS?), and the voice acting seemed top notch. If there was a time when the sound was annoying, it would have to be when you're at the bottom of a pile of zombies that your friends are not shooting off of you, at which points I could see the frustration.

Gameplay:
Okay, the fun parts about this game are definiately the team based shooting. This game doesn't have a lot of inovative features, unless you call the complete inablity to solo affectively a feature. (Seriously, there are so many ways you can fail as a solo player its rediculious [or in my case, fun]) It's a fast, basic shooter. There really isn't a lot more depth to the game than shooting zombies, saving teammates, and running to the objective. Why is that so entertaining?

Summary:
Left 4 Dead is definitely a game to play if you like team-based action. If the thought of relying on another person in a game really sets you off, it probably isn't for you. But then again, it might just change your mind.

My only real gripe with the game is the "full" game price tag asocciated with it. This is a $50.00 (US) game right now, which is to say it costs the same amount as Fallout 3 and Farcry 2. I don't know why, but it doesn't seem like a "full" game experience. This shouldn't be in the same price category as those two previous games. It's not that long, and it's not that in-depth. It's basically just a really fun mulitplayer mode of a shooter. A price tag of $30.00 (US) would be much more appropriate, and I'm sure the Steam price will fall to that eventually. Right now, at its price, it's sort of difficult to recommend. It's an excellent, really fun game. If you pick your purchases solely based off those two aspects, it's a sure buy. If you are low on funds though, it might be more difficult to justify purchasing.

Personally, I'd consider buying the full Valve package from steam for $100.00 (US). Yeah, twice the cost, I understand that, but you get every single game by Valve ever. I don't have most of them, and the ones I do I'd just trade to friends for sexual favors. Just kidding, I'd trade them for drugs. Definitely drugs.

Fallout 3 (In review)

First off, Fallout 3 is awesome. It has it's shortcomings, but the longgoings definitely make up for it (and yes, I said longgoings). The weapons are remarkably fun, the graphics are great, and Anything Goes (except child killing, but that's another story).

So I beat the game awhile ago actually, but I've still been playing it trying to get all the quests and exploration done, and I have to say those that just play through the main story missed a lot.

But lets face it, you don't CARE about my temporary addiction, so we'll get right down to me rating the game:

Graphics: 8.5
The graphics in Fallout 3 are pretty good, but like some other people have pointed out, it has some tweaky npcs, and a couple graphical glitches I ran into. The locations are memorable, and the little things (and big things) really add a lot to the game.

Sound: 9
This game can get pretty freaky if you play through without the radio...mutants make creepy sounds, and even without their sounds the dark atmosphere can get pretty creepy. It's not "scary" in most instances, but not all. Also, the classic music throughout the game is great, even if some is repeated too much.

Gameplay:9
There's no hiding how fun this game has been to me, it's just really fun to play. Choices actually play out in the game, and that makes it replayable and fun. Combat is great, even if V.A.T.S. can find some weird camera angles and disorient you.

When I played the game I played through as a morally complicated player, openly gaining fame and respect for my great deeds, but in the shadows I was a cannibal and a slaver. It feels great to be able to pull that off in a game, maintain an illusion to one image, while having hidden aspects the world wouldn't be so receptive of if I let the witnesses live. :P

Couple gripes:
1. The level cap of 20. I don't want to stop leveling, why should I have to? (most people will beat the game before reaching the cap)
2. No option to continue once the main story is over, but depending on how you play it I might understand.
3. Relatively few (but good) quests when compared to Oblivion -
4. The game shakes off a lot of "Oblivion with guns" stigma, but not all of it. If you've ever played Oblivion (I have, extensively), you'll see a lot of similarities, although most of them are actually useful.

Why is (nerd) Jacob writing a Fallout 3 review? Well, I'm waiting for Tony to get back to play Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory with him, but he's taking too long. Maybe I should just do some homework.

President-Elect Barack H. Obama

So, as you know, we have a new president-elect (Basically he's "locked-in" as president, but the virgin sacrifices haven't been completed yet). And as you know, I really don't care that much. As you know, I needed a new blog post to keep Tony repressed, and as you know, I'm hoping Obama moves us closer to my ultimate goal.

My parents are disappointed, but that's just because they are hardcore republicans. Tony is happy, ~~but that's just because he's a mindless teen zombie that believes all forms of change are good~~ because he believes the government is stagnant, and agrees with the president-elect on important issues.

But what about ME, the important person. I already said I really don't care that much, and that's basically it. My parents are disappointed that I'm so passive/eager for the communist/socialist movement (whether it be true or not). Honestly, I'm glad I couldn't vote this year. It wouldn't have mattered anyways.

BUT JACOB, I hear you say, EVERY VOTE IS IMPORTANT. I reply "no, not it's not".

There's the flawed argument that states that my single vote wouldn't matter (the race wasn't down to one vote). This is flawed because this attitude accounts for very much more than a single vote every election year, as tons of people think this.

Then there is my logical argument, that I actually do believe. You see, the people of the U.S. don't pick the president. Those millions upon millions of votes are ultimately pointless for everything except statistics. The reason? The electoral college.

The electoral college was basically founded way back when because it was easier to have representatives vote for the president than each individual person (a lot of people couldn't get to polls). The problem is, this system still exists. President-elect Obama won the race by default when approximately 50% of the votes were still being counted.

Is this bad? No, not really. He would've won by a landslide anyways, as shown by the popular poll numbers we have now. Electoral votes DO generally go the way the people of that particular state want. I'm not even arguing any of those points, I'm just saying that even if I had the capacity to vote this year, I would've been one of those votes that got counted after it was over.

Now I need to get my family to rally around Obama and support him, he's going to be our president now, whether 46% (or whatever it is) of America likes it or not. We'll be able to get a lot more done for everyone if the (north) American people are there following his decisions and being part of the process. We, the government, did not edit this last part in. Woo, go baseball and apple pie.

Fallout 3 (Continued)

So I bought the Fallout 3 collector's edition (comes with a bobble head, lunch box, concept art, and a "making of" DVD, as well as the game of course).

So far the game has been awesome, it's really fun. It's not scary, especially with the V.A.T.S. system (pausing time to make super awesome shots/moves), but I'm really having a hard time scavenging ammunition. Some people would mistake that as a bad thing, but it's not, it's CHALLENGING and AWESOME. I took down a super mutant that had a CHAIN GUN with my spiked knuckler....I'm not even a melee fighter character, I'm just that desperate.

Graphics are awesome, sounds are great, voice overs are excellent, combat is really fun, and the game managed to capture a lot of the classic Fallout feel. It's really quite cool, and it better be for the $75 I spent for it.

Only downside: I'm having some crashes and lock ups with it, but I'm sure they'll get those patched up soon. It just released today, I'm not THAT picky.

Fallout 3

I've actually been playing Fallout 2 in preparation for this game, and honestly it's pretty good. It takes a while to get used to the move based combat, but it's understandable. I can't wait to play a first person shooter in the Fallout world though, that'll be entertaining. In case you haven't been following, Fallout is a series based in a dystopian future where the world has largely been destroyed by nukes. There's a lot more to it, but that's the summary. It has been 10 years since the release of Fallout 2 (so 2 was a pretty basic game by modern graphical standards), and tons of people (myself included) can't wait to play 3.

Yay for pointless blog posts about video games. Let's face it, you read this far (or skipped to here, punk), so clearly it's pretty interesting to you. That, or you're bored. If you're bored, go punch a tree.

I wonder what I'm going to eat for lunch with Tony...subway is kind of expensive, but I'm hoping to work a little extra this week anyways. S'all good.

So anyways, I'm typing stuff here because I feel that I owe you an actual blog post, and it's not like I need to put a ton of effort into what I should talk about. You aren't that picky, are you?

I'm a bit tired of going through my internet routine. I check some comics to see if anything entertaining has come up, check todaysbigthing.com, check my email probably, be bored, and play some Hitman 2.

As I told Tony earlier, I beat Hitman 2, and I realized I don't want to spend my entire summer playing video games. WHY DON'T YOU LIVE CLOSER, TONY?! (Also, be sure to congratulate him on getting his license today). Anyways...I suppose I'd hate to admit it, but I draw some odd sense of satisfaction from actually accomplishing work (don't tell anyone). I'll be doing Math over the summer, so maybe I'll learn to code or something.

I know. Awesome.

Things I'd like to accomplish this summer:
- Maintain/finish my tan.
- Exercise at least some.
- Go SWIMMING, geez. (I really want to go swimming, but I haven't befriended someone with a pool yet. I'll have to do that later.)
- Finish my obnoxious Math; I've managed to somehow convince the world at large I'm fit for college, and thus caught up on everything EXCEPT math. It's nice, but I'd like to deliver the finishing blow to my procrastination.
- I'll probably end up getting a job. I know this doesn't really sound like I *want* a job, and it's true that I'm more or less indifferent on this point, but I suppose I wouldn't mind having some actual money.

Wow. I made an actual blog post! I feel as though I've done some good here... or at least something that will be unimportant in the light of the world's impending doom.

Now I used to be a cold person (not cold hearted, but I liked the cold better), but recently I've realized that it's almost entirely pointless to TRY to like the cold. I know you are all dying to hear about a day in my life, so here we goooooo!

(Insert all morning routines here, nobody cares)

So after I arrived at my first class (Music Appreciation) it was canceled AGAIN; that's two days in a row! I doubt it'll be canceled tomorrow though, so I probably won't have time to review my take-home quiz as much as I'd like.

So anyways, I went to the Hub and ran into Cody (there's a story there too I suppose). So I talked to him about stuff until I decided it was getting about time to head off to my next class, but not before I promised to come to the bible study in the atrium (awesome plant garden place for studying) for a bible study he was organizing later.

I went to my next class (Intro to Literature) and a about an hour later I was done there. I don't really like the stories we read for it, most of them are hopelessly depressing and don't end on a happy note.

I head over to my last class (something about microcomputers), which is generally cake because it's mostly for people that need to learn some basics about computers (and I'm pretty well past that point). On the way I kind of pass by Jordan (another story, I might need to make an explanation list of people I know someday) but on two different paths, so I just kept walking.

I had my general computer time class thing, spent some time on the internet, proved my general computer knowledge by being able to answer most of the questions, and hung out with a relatively new "college" friend of mine, Maggie (A pretty short story for this one).

She drove me to the hub in her ex-cop car (which is sweet), even though in reality I was going farther away from where I needed to walk to, it wasn't that much farther and I really didn't care) After that was over wish it was about time to head over to Cody's Bible study, so I walked around a bit until I ran into him, they headed into the atrium. A couple other folks showed up, there were 5 of us total, which is pretty good considering it was the first meeting, we discussed a bit of stuff.

After that I left and wasted some time, then I headed to the library to work a little on my quiz which is due tomorrow. After that I headed over with my mom to where my grandma was visiting, and I basically sat in the van for most of the time and read "Dune", which Tony is lending me. I did go in eventually and go through the compulsory (haha, Pris) acts of being a grandson by hugging and talking a bit; it was nice.

After that I went to Cody's church and for the most part we played volley-ball. After that, we ate, then we played volley-ball some more - lots of fun.

Now I need to finish up that quiz, I really can't put it off forever, and I want some sleep tonight.

So me and my studio producer/rapper Bryson were recording him freestyle rapping (meaning you rap to a track you just make up the words as you go it's kind of free flowing, ill show you in a second) and after we were listening to the recording seeing how it was, he was playing my guitar just messing around and i made this connection, i thought wow this is great, blues plus rap? is it possible? oh yeah it is.

we put his rap on a sweet beat me and mitch produced for our project We Are Future, but also, i had him play the blues and recorded and put it over him rapping and saved it as a song too.

it's a beautiful camera and It's not too expensive. I've been wanting an art camera for a long time and i think this would be nice to have. It's 8.0 MP whereas my current camera is only 4.0 MP (MP=megapixel)

I recognize this isn't poetry, nor is it in any way comparable to anything Tony comes up with, but that's not my goal - it's just some thoughts. Think of it more as a message to myself than anything else; I need to hear it more often, honestly.
